TGTA Meeting

Hello fellow geographers!

After a year of leave, I am back and ready to meet with everyone to lead and discuss Toronto geography initiatives for the 2014-2015 school year. After attending OAGEE, and meeting with colleagues, many ideas were thrown around. A teacher mentioned the need for sharing resources and lessons with one another, especially with the new curriculum coming our way.

I propose we have a meeting on Monday November 10th from 4-6pm at the Merchants of Green Coffee (2 Matilda St. near Queen and Broadview) where we can briefly discuss any concerns we have with the new curriculum and to discuss any PD we require from TDSB to better deliver this new document. We can also plan and discuss our next winter meeting (possibly February at the start of semester 2) and a spring field trip (possibly April) for 2015.

If you can bring a lesson or two, and/or a few resources, websites to the meeting, that could begin some good sharing and save us all a lot of time planning something new that already exists!

You can bring paper copies if you would like, but everyone should bring a laptop, tablet or IPad with USbs to share and to peruse websites since the cafe has wifi.

Please RSVP by replying to this email to dimitra.tsanos@tdsb.on.ca by Nov. 8th. I will send another email on the 8th to let you know how many people will be attending so you can photocopy accordingly. We could also email people with documents or post them to the TDSB geography blog.

Hope to see lots of you on the 10th!

Dimitra Tsanos
