Inquiry: What might be needed to ensure that countries meet their biodiversity targets?

Activity: Conduct research into what countries have done in the past to conserve biodiversity. Complete an issue analysis to determine different views to help understand obstacles countries may need to overcome to meet their biodiversity targets. Create a spatial journal to show how spatial significance may influence different strategies to mee country targets. Develop a plan to help countries meet their goals. Communicate results via story map.

Inquiry: How might this new technology impact communities? How might this new finding contribute to a reduction in corporations and or individuals ecological footprint? What might be needed to get corporations and governments to adopt this new technology?

Activity: Collect data on how electricity generation in different regions of the World and Canada. Create a spatial journal to determine how spatial significance impacts how electricity is generated. Conduct an issue analysis to gain insight into stakeholders values and beliefs about this new technological opportunity. Develop and action plan to influence corporations, governments, and populations to move forward on this technology so that it will be adopted quickly after it becomes practical to do so. Create a story map to share your strategies for adoption of this technology in industry and communicate to an appropriate audience.

Parks Canada warns of ‘irreversible harm’ if Ontario proceeds with Greenbelt development 



Inquiry: How might this "protected" land actually be protected? Why might protecting the Rouge National Park be important for Canadians?

Activity: Collect data on the Greenbelt development and Rouge National Park. Create a spatial journal to might out the greenbelt and the proposed development (i.e. Greenbelt Map). Conduct an issue analysis to better understand the roles, values and beliefs of the people and organizations that might be impacted including species at risk. Evaluate urban growth (build up) and urban sprawl. Develop an action plan that might be better at accommodating Toronto's growing population and still protect the environment. Communicate via story map to the appropriate stakeholders.
