Ice hotel
opens in Swedish Lapland – in pictures
The 25th
Icehotel has just opened for the 2014/15 season in the village of Jukkasjärvi,
Swedish Lapland. Carved from 1,600 tonnes of snow and ice, the hotel features
16 artist-designed suites, a bar and theatre.
Over the last few
weeks, 42 artists from around the world have used 1,600 tonnes of ice and snow
from the nearby frozen Torne River to create the 25th pop-up Icehotel.
