TDSB to cut outdoor education programs amid sweeping staff reductions The Trillium Tina Yazdani

Concepts of Geographic Thinking: Geographic Perspective, Spatial Significance

Inquiry: How might closing down Outdoor Education Facilities improve outdoor educational experience for students and the community? Might the TDSB be looking at selling the property to fill the funding gaps created by the Provincial Governments underfunding of Public Education?

Activity: Collect information and data about the Education centres designated to be closed. Determine the property values of these centres. Conduct an issues analysis to determine the Geographic Perspectives of the Ontario Government, the Boards, the Developers, and the communities. Create a spatial journal to understand the spatial significance of the locations. Develop an action plan that addresses the situation and create a story map that can be shared with the stakeholders.
